ONGC gets government approval to set up ‘ONGC Green Limited’

ONGC is set to set up a wholly owned subsidiary, ‘ONGC Green Limited’, for gas business and clean energy initiatives.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has approved ONGC’s strategic move into green hydrogen, renewable energy and biofuels.

ONGC aims to invest Rs 1 lakh crore to achieve 10 GW renewable energy capacity and two million tonnes of green ammonia production by 2035.

 

India overtook Hong Kong, secured fourth position in global stock market

India became the world’s fourth largest stock exchange by market capitalization on January 22, overtaking Hong Kong.

The US continues to hold the top position with a market cap of $50.86 trillion, followed by China with $8.44 trillion and Japan with $6.36 trillion.

India’s market cap stood at $4.33 trillion compared to Hong Kong’s $4.29 trillion.

 

IICF announces construction of mosque in Ayodhya

Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) started construction of “Masjid Muhammad bin Abdullah” mosque in Ayodhya.

IICF considers crowdfunding as a means of financing mosque construction.

After the Supreme Court’s 2019 decision declaring the Babri Masjid demolition illegal, the Muslim community was allotted separate land to build the mosque.
